Buyers Guide to navigate Black Friday 2026 eBike Deals
Black Friday is on Friday 27 November 2026. Cue a flood of e-bike deals, from brilliant to bonkers.
We can’t list daily prices, because they change by the hour. What we can do is give you a checklist so you don’t buy a dud.
1. Check it’s legal before you check the price
A cheap bike that’s illegal to ride is no bargain. GOV.UK says a legal e-bike (an EAPC) needs pedals, a motor of no more than 250W continuous power, and assistance that cuts out at 15.5mph.
Bikes that don’t meet the rules are classed as motorcycles or mopeds, needing registration, tax, insurance and a licence. Deals on 750W “off-road” bikes often hide this.
2. Look hard at the “discount”
Spot a “was £2,499, now £1,299” label? Be sceptical.
- Note the price a few weeks before the sale starts
- Compare the same model at several shops
- Be suspicious of discounts that seem too big to be true
3. Know your return rights
If you buy online, the Consumer Contracts Regulations give you the right to cancel, for most goods, within 14 days of receiving them. After you tell the seller, you then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
If a bike is faulty, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you a short-term right to reject it within 30 days. The government’s consumer rights guide explains the basics. Sale items count too.
Our tip: when a bike arrives, test it properly in the first couple of weeks.
4. Check the seller
- Is there a UK address and phone number?
- Does it say who handles warranty and repairs?
- Are replacement batteries and chargers sold in the UK?
5. Don’t skimp on the battery
Black Friday also means bargain batteries and chargers. The government’s Buy Safe, Be Safe guidance says to buy from trusted sellers and check how products meet UK safety laws. Skip unbranded packs, however cheap.
6. Watch for pressure tactics
“Only 3 left!” timers are designed to rush you. If the bike is good on Friday, it’s still good on Monday.
Our Black Friday rules
- Is it a legal 250W, 15.5mph e-bike?
- Is the price genuinely lower than before?
- Is the seller UK-based and easy to reach?
- Can you return it if it’s wrong?
Four yeses means buy. Anything less, walk away.
We’re not financial advisers. Check each retailer’s terms before you buy.
